The Project
GE BE Transport Limited required the construction of extensive concrete areas as part of the redevelopment of this transport facility.
With over 10,000m² of concrete to pour and numerous bay sections to form, a rapid installation process was critical to staying on schedule. The contractor faced tight deadlines, making it essential to implement a solution that maximized both productivity and efficiency.
How It Works
The K-Form uPVC screed rail provides the construction industry with an economical, efficient, and environmentally friendly alternative to steel or wooden shuttering. Made from recycled materials and fully certified by the BBA Certification, K-Form is lightweight, durable, and can remain in place after concrete pouring. It’s easily cut to length on-site and features pre-drilled holes in the vertical face for locating steel dowel bars, as well as in the base for mortar anchoring. The design also includes end clips for joining and a removable top strip for joint sealing. Compatible with twin beams, Bunyan rollers, or vibro strikes, the K-Form K135 eliminate the need for traditional shuttering systems.

The Solution
K-Form was selected to efficiently create precise bay sections with integrated isolation joints. Unlike traditional shuttering systems,
K-Form provided an innovative solution that accelerated the pouring process by 40%, eliminating the need to remove and clean shutters.
Furthermore, K-Form’s recycled plastic system minimized waste, ensuring that all components were fully utilised.
